Orthodox Delegations at Table
This year’s Malankara Orthodox delegation to the General Assembly included Their Graces Zachariah Mar Nicholovos (Assistant Metropolitan of the Northeast American Diocese), Alexios Mar Eusebius (Metropolitan of the Southwest American Diocese), Rev. Fr. Dr. P. C. Thomas, Mrs. Susan Varghese & Ms. Asha Thomas. Rev. Dn. Paul Cherian, also a delegate, was not in attendance.
The theme of the Assembly was “Rejoice Always, Pray without ceasing, Give thanks in all circumstances (I Thessalonians 5:16-18, NRSV). Sessions, various reports and prayers were conducted with an ecumencial mindset.
The Delagation also participated in fellowship dinner which included the various Orthodox communions who attended. During the dinner, His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos introduced His Grace Alexios Mar Eusebius to the Orthodox Delegations.
