About the Diocesan Council
According to the Constitution of the Malankara Orthodox Church, every Diocese must have a Diocesan Council consisting of two Priests and four laymen elected by the Diocesan Assembly.
The Diocesan Secretary serves as the secretary of the council.
One of the important functions of the council is to serve in an advisory capacity to the Metropolitan for matters concerning the administration of the Diocese.
The Council is to prepare the budget for the income and expenditure of the Diocese which is to be approved by the Diocesan Assembly.
